When you order a custom piece from us, what actually happens? Where does it go? Who makes it? Here's the journey your outfit takes—from your order to your doorstep—and why handmade takes time but delivers something mass production never can.

It Starts With Your Order

When your order comes in, we review every detail:

• Your measurements, double-checked
• Any customizations you've requested
• Fabric requirements
• Embroidery specifications
• Timeline

Your order is assigned a production schedule. Nothing is pulled from a warehouse—everything is made from scratch, for you.

The Fabric

We work with trusted fabric suppliers—relationships built over years. Quality control happens before cutting:

• Fabric inspection for flaws
• Colour verification
• Texture and drape check

Only after approval does fabric move to cutting. If we find issues, we source again rather than compromise.

The Cutting

Using your specific measurements, patterns are created. This isn't grading from a standard size—it's building a pattern for your body.

• Each piece cut individually
• Seam allowances calculated for your fit
• Markings for embroidery placement
• Pattern pieces organized for assembly

The Karigars: Master Craftsmen

Here's where the magic happens. Karigars—master artisans—take your cut pieces and transform them.

Embroidery Work

Depending on the technique, your piece goes to specialists:

Zari work: Gold and silver thread embroidery, done by karigars trained in this specific craft

Aari work: Chain stitch embroidery using a hooked needle, creating flowing patterns

Mukesh/Badla: Flattened wire embroidery creating metallic surfaces

Gota Patti: Appliqué work with gold ribbon, traditional to Rajasthan

Zardozi: Heavy metallic embroidery for bridal and statement pieces

Why Hand Embroidery Takes Time

A single kurta with moderate embroidery: 15-20 hours of hand work
A heavily embroidered anarkali: 40-60 hours
A bridal lehenga: 100+ hours across multiple artisans

This cannot be rushed without compromising quality. When you see "4-5 weeks production time," this is why.

Assembly

After embroidery, pieces return for construction:

• Joining panels
• Setting sleeves
• Attaching linings
• Creating closures (hooks, zips, buttons)
• Hemming and finishing

Each step is checked. Mistakes at this stage are costly to fix, so attention to detail is paramount.

Quality Control

Before your piece ships:

• Complete measurement verification
• Embroidery inspection
• Seam and construction check
• Colour and fabric final review
• Pressing and finishing

If anything doesn't meet standards, it goes back for correction. This is why we don't quote delivery dates down to the day—we won't ship something that isn't right.

Packing & Shipping

Your finished piece is:

• Carefully folded to protect embroidery
• Wrapped in tissue
• Packed in protective packaging
• Shipped with tracking

For heavily embroidered pieces, special packing ensures embroidery isn't crushed in transit.

Understanding the Timeline

When we say 4-5 weeks for standard pieces, 6-8 weeks for bridal:

• Week 1: Order processing, fabric preparation, cutting
• Weeks 2-3: Embroidery work (the longest phase)
• Week 4: Assembly, finishing, quality control
• Week 4-5: Final checks and shipping

Bridal pieces have more embroidery = more time in the karigar phase.
