Designer Sarees Under ₹30,000: 12 Picks from Chiffon to Banarasi, and What the Money Buys
Thirty thousand rupees is a meaningful number for a saree. Below it, most of what you see online is machine-embroidered or printed; well above it, you are into heavy bridal silks and dense zari. In between sits the band most people actually shop in for Diwali, a sister's sangeet or a friend's reception — the saree that has to look special, get photographed, and still be worn again.
This is a guide to what that money buys in 2026: what to expect in each price band, the twelve sarees we make under ₹30,000 (from ₹16,695 to ₹27,500), what is and isn't included, and the one line item most people forget to budget for — the blouse.
What Each Price Band Buys
- Under ₹10,000. Printed, machine-embroidered and blended fabrics, or simple handloom cottons. Good sarees for everyday and small functions; rarely much handwork.
- ₹10,000–20,000. Better chiffons, georgettes and organzas with some hand embroidery, usually concentrated at the border; entry-level woven silks.
- ₹20,000–30,000. Hand embroidery across the body as well as the border — sequins, cutdana, gota, marodi — and handwoven Banarasi silks with woven zari motifs.
- Above ₹30,000. Denser, heavier embroidery, all-over zardozi, and the pure-silk Kanjivarams and Banarasis with heavy zari that most families think of as trousseau pieces.
One honest caveat: a heavy pure-silk Kanjivaram or a densely woven bridal Banarasi usually costs more than this, and anything claiming to be one for much less deserves a close look. Our guide to how to identify a pure silk saree covers the checks that work. For names across the market at every price, see the best designer saree brands in India.
How Our Sarees Are Made — and What's Included
We are not weavers. We buy woven cloth — chiffon, georgette, organza, Banarasi — and our karigars in Jaipur embroider it by hand. Ten of the twelve sarees below are made that way. The other two, Rahi and Phalgun, are handwoven Banarasi silks whose motifs are woven into the cloth rather than embroidered; they come as a set with a hand-embroidered blouse.
That is the most important thing to know when comparing prices: ten of these twelve are the saree alone. The blouse in the photograph is styling, not part of the product. Every piece is made to order over 4–5 weeks, and any blouse you order from us is cut to your measurements at no extra charge.
Our Sarees Under ₹30,000
₹16,695–19,500: light drapes, real handwork
The Ranjha saree (₹16,695) is plum georgette with hand-embroidered scalloped lines and floral jaals running diagonally across the drape, in sequins and thread work in antique gold and muted ruby — our most affordable saree, and the one with the most vintage feel. The Salima saree (₹18,500) is light, fluid chiffon edged with a soft-gold gota border and scattered with small hand-embroidered bootis in gota, marodi and fine thread work.
The Fida saree (₹19,500) is pure chiffon with a broad gold lappa lace border and sequins scattered like dew along its length. And the Laal Ishq saree (₹19,500) is deep vermillion organza silk with sequin vines and abstract florals trailing along the body — a red saree for Karva Chauth or a first Diwali that isn't a heavy one.

₹21,000–22,595: more embroidery in the body
The Sajni saree (₹21,000) is blush-pink chiffon with scattered floral clusters in sequins, cutdana and beadwork and a scalloped border — imagined for haldi and mehendi afternoons and intimate weddings. The Chandni saree (₹22,500) is deep black chiffon with vertical lines of sequins and cutdana along the border and subtle buta motifs across the body: the cocktail and reception saree of this list.
The Rangrez saree (₹22,500) is deep red chiffon — the colour of alta on a bride's feet — with floral bootis hand-embroidered in sequins and beadwork in ivory, saffron, plum and rose, and a softly shimmering border. And the Zariya saree (₹22,595) is a soft mint-green Banarasi base with diagonal bands of sequins and gota in antique gold, finished with a fine pink selvedge — a woven base with handwork on top.

₹24,500–27,500: Banarasi sets and the festive reds
The Rahi & Amara set (₹24,500) is a fuchsia-pink handwoven Banarasi silk sari with floral motifs woven in gold thread and a gold lace border, with the Amara blouse in champagne stripe silk — a deep V-neck hand-embroidered with florals and sequins. The Phalgun & Myra set (₹27,500) is a yellow handwoven Banarasi silk sari with floral motifs woven in silver thread and a rich lace border, with the Myra blouse in ivory, embroidered with a constellation of floral butis. These are the two pieces here that include a blouse.
The Sakhi saree (₹25,000) is deep sindoori-red organza with floral butis and a bold scalloped border in sequins, cutdana and gota — a trousseau saree that draws on bridal motifs. The Mehfil saree (₹25,500) is sindoori-red chiffon with a heavily embroidered border of floral vines and trailing paisleys in sequins, cutdana and soft-gold thread. Because that border is so dense, slight creasing can form between the embroidered panels — a result of the handwork rather than a flaw, and worth knowing before it arrives.

Choosing by Occasion
- Karva Chauth, first Diwali, a red for the family puja: Laal Ishq, Rangrez, Sakhi or Mehfil.
- Haldi, mehendi and day functions: Sajni, Salima or Zariya — light, pale and easy in the sun.
- Cocktail, reception, an evening dinner: Chandni, or Ranjha in plum.
- Diwali puja and festive lunches where a woven silk feels right: Rahi & Amara or Phalgun & Myra.
- A wedding guest saree you'll wear for years: Fida or Salima — minimal enough to restyle with a different blouse each season.
If you are unsure which drape flatters you, our guide to the best sarees for different body types compares chiffon, organza and silk on the body. For fabric-by-fabric roundups, see chiffon, organza and Banarasi.
Budget for the Blouse
Because most of these sarees are sold alone, the real price of the look is saree plus blouse. Our hand-embroidered blouses start at ₹6,250 with the Shahana blouse (₹6,250) in tangerine silk. Fida is photographed with the Nimbu blouse (₹7,500), a lemon-yellow silk blouse with floral clusters in sequins, cutdana and beadwork — together, ₹27,000. For Chandni, a black pure-silk blouse such as the Ulfat blouse (₹8,500) keeps the look sleek; that pairing comes to ₹31,000, which also crosses our free-shipping threshold of ₹30,000.
You can of course wear a blouse you already own — a contrast blouse is often the best way to make one saree feel like three. Browse the blouse collection, or read our roundup of the best saree blouse brands.
What to Check Before You Pay
- What is included. Saree alone, saree with blouse piece, or saree with a stitched blouse? Read the components line, not the photograph.
- The fibre, in writing. "Pure chiffon", "organza silk" and "handwoven Banarasi silk" are specific claims; "silk-feel" and "Banarasi-style" are not.
- Woven or embroidered. Both are legitimate, but they are priced differently. Turn the fabric over: a woven motif shows floats of thread on the back; hand embroidery shows small irregular stitches. Our real vs imitation zari guide helps with the gold.
- Finishing. Ask whether fall and pico are done, and whether the blouse can be made to your measurements.
- The lead time. Made-to-order takes 4–5 weeks plus shipping. For Diwali on 8 November 2026, order by the end of September; our order-early guide has the full calendar.
Once it arrives, our draping guide will get you from folded to finished, and our steaming guide keeps embroidery safe between wears. Looking at other categories? See kurta sets under ₹20,000 and lehengas under ₹50,000.

Shop SareesFrequently Asked Questions
Can you buy a designer saree under ₹30,000?
Yes. Between ₹15,000 and ₹30,000 you can buy chiffon, georgette and organza sarees with genuine hand embroidery across the border and body, and handwoven Banarasi silks with woven zari motifs. Heavy pure-silk Kanjivarams and dense bridal Banarasis usually cost more.
Is the blouse included with a designer saree?
Often not. Many designer sarees are sold alone and photographed with a blouse for styling. Of our twelve sarees under ₹30,000, ten are the saree only and two — Rahi & Amara and Phalgun & Myra — include a blouse. Our blouses start at ₹6,250 and are made to your measurements at no extra charge.
Which saree fabric is best for a festive occasion?
Chiffon and georgette for ease and fluid drape, especially for dancing or long evenings; organza for a crisp, sheer, luminous look; Banarasi silk when you want a woven, more traditional feel for pujas and family functions.
How long does a made-to-order saree take?
Ours take 4–5 weeks to make, plus shipping. Allow about six weeks before your event, and a little more during the October to February festive and wedding season.
